Carlton Bragg to make college decision on Thursday

Illinois Hoops recruiting target Carlton Bragg will make his college decision on Thursday.

Another decision day looms near for Coach John Groce and Illinois. This time it's Carlton Bragg, a five-star Power Forward from Cleveland, Ohio. The finalists in Bragg's recruitment are Illinois, Kentucky, and Kansas (Arizona and UCLA have been eliminated).

Groce has been recruiting Bragg since his days at Ohio. The Illinois staff didn't miss any of Bragg's games this past Summer and they most recently checked in with the big man at the Cancer Research Classic in West Virginia over the weekend.

Bragg hasn't taken an official visit to Illinois, but he visited campus unofficially back in the Summer of 2013. He's also taken visits to Kansas (official) and Kentucky (unofficial).

Bragg's announcement will take place at Cleveland's Villa Angela St. Joseph high school this upcoming Thursday (January 8th) at 1:45pm CT.

Bragg is rated as the 16th overall prospect by 247Sports; a commitment to the Illini would make him the highest rated player brought in by Groce to date. Illinois' 2015 class of Jalen Coleman-Lands, Aaron Jordan, D.J. Williams, and Darius Paul already ranks in the top 15 nationally--it could receive another huge boost on Thursday.
