GIFs from Illinois' 72-67 win over the Northwestern Wildcats.

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

The Illinois Fighting Illini defeated the Northwestern Wildcats in 72-67 in Evanston on Wednesday night. The best part about it? It was actually a really entertaining game! A lot of people (myself included) thought it would be defensive battle--NOPE. It was a highly contested matchup, the crowd was into it, and there were several highlight-reel plays. Luckily, we've got you covered with some GIFs.

Remember, these are just some of our GIFs from Wednesday's contest against Northwestern. Make sure to join our future Game Threads for more live GIFs during Illinois' games.

Nunn

This one was the first basket of the game--it came off a post touch from Nnanna Egwu.

Second basket of the game. Nunn showing off some NBA range in this one.

Aaron Cosby Three.GIF

We couldn't believe it, either! Aaron Cosby played his best game of the season on Wednesday as he tallied 19 points. Let's not forget about the pass either, Nunn was making plays like this all night.

More Cosby. This time he curled off an Egwu screen and hit a tough, contested shot.

Jaylon Tate to Malcolm Hill.GIF

That's just an incredible play by Tate. He knew Hill was streaking down the floor as soon as he jumped to get the ball and made an acrobatic pass. Hill finished the play off with a nice breakaway slam.

Nnanna Egwu Slam.GIF

Here's Kendrick Nunn making another play--this time he found Egwu for an easy slam. Illinois' big men need to do more of this.

Kendrick Nunn can FLYYYYY! This clip really just encompasses his night in 3 seconds. Also--take a look at Tate celebrating before the ball goes in.
