Kris Williams verbally commits to wrestle at Illinois

The No. 3-ranked wrestler at 120 lbs by Flo Wrestling and 3-time IHSA Class 3A state champion will wrestle for the Fighting Illlini.

Kris Williams, the No. 3-ranked wrestler at 120-pound has given his verbal commitment to Jim Heffernan and the Illinois Fighting Illini on Sunday.

Williams, the No. 31 overall recruit, has won three straight state titles in the lightweight brackets. His latest title (120) had five other nationally ranked wrestlers in it.

Heffernan has already received commitments from FloNationals champion No. 22 Xavier Montalvo (174) and Folk Nationals Champion No. 64 Carver James (157/165) as he looks put together another top seven recruiting class.

Williams went 30-0 his junior year and enters his final prep season at 69-3, and will look to join an elite club of wrestlers that have won four state titles.
