Men's Golf

The men's golf team took care of business in their own tournament as they hosted the likes of Stanford, Oklahoma State, Texas, and defending National Champion Alabama. Baylor led entering Sunday, but struggled mightily as the Illini came out on top. Freshmen Nick Hardy, Spencer Reed, and Dylan Meyer started for the Illini; Meyer finished tied for 1st while Hardy finished 12th.  The Illini had four members of the team place in the top-12.  Thomas Detry, who is arguably Illinois' best player, wasn't even competing as he was at an amateur tournament in Europe. The team is ranked 6th in the nation and they should climb higher after this big tournament win.

Soccer

The women's soccer team pitched a shutout against Nebraska (4-3-1) on the road today. The team improved to 6-2 (1-1) while outshooting Nebraska 13 to 6. The girls scored once in the first half and twice in the second half to secure the victory. Goalkeeper Claire Wheatley had 3 saves.

Volleyball

The #12 Illini won the Blue Raider Bash in Murfreesboro, Tennessee this weekend.  They went 2-1 over the course of the past few days and improved their overall record to 5-3.  Victories over Middle Tennessee State and Washington State highlighted Illinois' trip; their lone loss was to Virginia Tech in a 5-set match.

Women's Cross Country

The Illini runners beat Iowa (2nd place) by 29 points in a victory this week. Alyssa Schneider had the best time of anyone in the race as she finished in 17 minutes 18 seconds. Next week, Illinois will go up to Minneapolis for the Roy Griak Invitational.
