Four-star guard Jawun Evans has trimmed his list of schools to four and includes the Illinois Fighting Illini, tweets Scout.com's Evan Daniels.

Evans had previously listed Clemson, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech as potential landing spots.  It comes as surprise that Clemson was left off the list; Evans is originally from South Carolina and it was believed they would be in it until the end.

The 6-foot, guard is from Kimball High in Dallas and has had two in-home visits from Illini head coach John Groce. The first came on Feb. 11 with Jamall Walker joining Groce on April 23.

Thomas is a five-star recruit from Rockwall, Texas and told ESPN's Jeff Goodman he will make an official visit to Champaign on Sept. 19.

The announcement of Evans' list continues the barrage of recruiting news for the Illini.  Monday, guard Jimmy Whitt announced that he would take an official visit to Illinois.  Jalen Brunson, the top point-guard in the in the class of 2015, also announced he would be taking three visits--Illinois was first on the list.
