What a weekend! Not only did most of us receive an extra day away from work or class or whatever it is you had an extra day away from, we all received a jam packed weekend full of recruiting and tournament updates.
A little Memorial Day humor to start this Hangover...
Before we move forward and in all seriousness, as fun as Memorial Day Weekend is, I hope everyone took some time to honor those that have given their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms and the liberties we have today. The sacrifice should never be forgotten or taken for granted.
Back to Illini sports.
Illinois is in Miles Boykin's top ten!

The 4 star rated Boykin is currently the 10th ranked WR nationally and 2nd best prospect in the state of Illinois for 2015 according to Rivals. Is this a big surprise being included in his top ten? No. Not really. It never hurts to see Illinois on these lists with the state's best prospects, though. Hopefully the positive vibes and the recruiting momentum continues for the football team.
On to basketball, where Illinois continues to be mentioned with some highly touted recruits.
Before we jump into the recruiting shout outs, Robert, from IlliniBoard, gives his wishlist of sorts for the 2015 class. You will see a number of familiar names from our previous 2015 recruiting update.
Current Illini commitment Aaron Jordan lit it up for 38 points in a losing effort at the Chicago Classic. That shot is pure.
Point guard prospect Jawun Evans had a monster weekend himself; this game in particular. He also had some nice things to say about the illini.
Spoke with #Illini target PG Jawun Evans. He said he talks with Illinois a lot. "I really think highly of them." Good relationship w/ staff.

5 star, 2016 small forward Jayson Tatum gives an Illini mention.
Just talked to Jayson Tatum. Noted Illinois and Duke specifically in regards to schools that came to see him this spring. #EYBL

Nice to see John Groce still putting in work with Jalen Brunson.
Jalen Brunson said he talks with #Illini HC John Groce twice a week. "Just life conversations, not basketball."

Illinois baseball bowed out of the Big Ten Tournament with an 11-2 loss to Michigan St. on Friday. Considered one of the top bubble teams going into the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, the Illini were snubbed. Much more was to be accomplished, but congrats on a great season, guys.
Is the Illinois men's golf team the best program on campus right now? It sure seems like it. They advanced to match play for the third time in the past four years by finishing tied for 7th at the NCAA Championships yesterday. The team faces top-seeded Stanford this morning to open the match play round.
And if anyone is still paying attention, the Blackhawks forgot they were playing hockey for most of the first two periods Monday night. The Kings dominated again to take a 3-1 series lead.
That's a wrap. At least we have a short week. Enjoy!
