Dre Brown, a 4-star running back out of DeKalb, committed to the University of Illinois on Friday. Dre becomes the second in-state catch for Tim Beckman in this class.

Brown, the 38th ranked athlete in the country and 9th ranked overall player in the state of Illinois according to Rivals, says his loyalty to the state school was a major reason for his decision. He, along with fellow 2015 commit Jimmy Fitzgerald, are looking forward to pushing Illinois football to the top. They've also started recruiting others to join them on the Illini.
Dre has good size. He shows a great burst through the hole. He has speed to the corner and can pull away from the pack. He'll be a great addition to the program. Hopefully, this commitment has a domino effect on some other highly rated in-state kids.
