Week 5 College Basketball Rankings

The updated Coaches Poll has been released and the the Illinois Fighting Illini have cracked the top 25 despite losing at #15 Miami last week. The 7-1 Illini are one of five Big Ten teams ranked in the poll; they're joined by #6 Wisconsin, #12 Ohio State, #20 Maryland, and #23 Michigan State. Iowa, Michigan, and Nebraska also received votes.

Unfortunately, the Illinois fell from #24 to NR in this week's AP Poll. However they were second in votes received with 91.

Illinois will take on #7 Villanova (8-0) on Tuesday night in the annual Jimmy V Classic.
