The 2015 Illinois Fighting Illini football recruiting class landed its 15th member this morning (third on the defensive side) when cornerback Desmond Cain announced he would be playing in Champaign. Cain is a solid three-star defensive back who visited Illinois all the way back in September, but apparently wanted to take his time making his decision, which is commendable.
Cain is currently listed at 5'10" and 180 lbs and chose the Illini over offers from the ACC (Syracuse and Virginia), the Big Ten (Rutgers), the AAC (Cincinnati, Temple, SMU, and South Florida), and the SEC (South Carolina). Florida Atlantic and Bowling Green round out his offers list.
That's a pretty good group to be picked over. There's no real "hot damn!" school in there, but any day a recruit comes down to choosing between us and the Gamecocks and chooses us, I'm going to be pretty happy about it.
