#Rivalry Week: An Ode to Fitzy (A Poem)

There once was a man from Nantucket...

Byron Hetzler-USA TODAY Sports

Fitzy oh Fitzy, the coach from up north,

When you're on the sidelines, you pace back and forth.

<img src="" alt="" />

You coach the Wildcats, a team from the Big Ten,

A conference of champions, a conference of men (and women).

<img src="" alt="" />

You've once worn a jersey, and played for your team,

and in coaching them now, you're living a dream.

<img src="" alt="" />

Northwestern has grown, thanks to your help

You've caused many coaches to grumble and yelp.

<img src="" alt="" />

Like that coach from South Bend, that was quite a treat,

When the ball sailed through the uprights, I jumped out of my seat.

<img src="" alt="" />

You toss your headset, you kick and you scream,

But win, lose, or draw, you stand by your team.

Abe Lincoln's Hat is the prize we've desired,

Chances are the losing team's coach might get fired.

<img src="" alt="" />

So this Saturday in Evanston, you better prepare,

Our team will be ready, and our fans will be there.

11:00 am, in the Battle for a Hat

Let's Go Illini, BEAT FITZY AND THE CATsssssssssssssss
