Illinois' Brandi Donnelly posted the most digs in a three-set match since 1998 to take the female athlete of the week honors and quarterback Wes Lunt threw for over 300 yards, 200 of which were to freshman Mike Dudek. The football duo share the male honor.
Brandi Donnelly
The freshman libero had 25 digs and six assists in the Illini's 3-0 sweep of No. 18 Minnesota on Wednesday. She followed her performance with 19 digs, eight assists and two service aces against No. 6 Wisconsin on Saturday. Donnelly was named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week on Monday for her second weekly honor, and fourth weekly conference honor for the Illini this season.
Wes Lunt/Mike Dudek
The sophomore transfer was 27-for-39 for 332 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions in the Illini's 38-27 home loss to Purdue. Freshman wide receiver Mike Dudek hauled in eight receptions for 200 yards. Dudek joins A.J. Jenkins (268, '11), Steven Hull (224, '13) and David Williams (208, '84) as the only Illini to record 200 receiving yard games. The 200 yard total also is a season-high this season in the Big Ten.
