B1G Media Picks Illini To Finish Last In Division

Trust me, nobody in the media knows shit.

USA TODAY Sports

So far this summer we've seen a couple of outside predictions as to where the Illini will finish in the Leaders Division this season.

There was the SBNation poll that had the Illini finishing fifth ahead of Purdue.

We also had a video game simulation that had the Illini going 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten to finish third in the division behind Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Our latest prediction comes from the Big Ten media, and, well, they aren't so optimistic. According to the media poll conducted by The Cleveland Plain-Dealer the Illini are going to finish dead last in the Leaders Division. In fact, points-wise, the Illini got less points from the 26 voters than any other team in the conference with 31.5 points. An average of 1.2 points per voter, so there were a couple who had Illinois finishing fifth.

The next lowest total was Minnesota at 38. In the Leaders Division Purdue finished just about Illinois with 52.5 points.

But, if it means anything to you, I know better than most that the media doesn't know shit.
