Vegas Sets Illinois Win Total Over/Under At 3.5

Vegas is just as optimistic as most of you.

USA TODAY Sports

When football season starts we're going to have a gambling competition here amongst the writers that not even they know about yet, and you won't find out the details about it until the season draws nearer. But while we may be waiting here, Vegas isn't wasting any more time when it comes to releasing the over/unders on win totals for college football teams in the 2013 season.

So how does Vegas see the Illini season going? Well, it seems Vegas is a bit more optimistic than most of you, honestly. While most of the predictions I hear from folks are of the 2-10 and 3-9 variety, 5Dimes.com has set Illinois' win total at 3.5.

And the over is actually the favorite, as betting on the over pays at -160 -- you'd have to wager $160 to win $100 -- while the under pays off at +120 -- if you bet $100 you would win $120.

Other Big Ten over/unders:

Indiana - 5.5

Iowa - 5.5

Michigan - 9.5

Michigan State - 8.5

Minnesota - 5.5

Nebraska - 9.5

Northwestern - 9.5

Ohio State - 11.5

Penn State - 8.5

Purdue - 5.5

Wisconsin - 8.5

So the Illini have the lowest total of any team in the Big Ten. So we got that going for us. Which is nice.
