LB Henry McGrew Commits To Illinois

McGrew is the sixth member of the 2014 class.

Bradley Leeb-US PRESSWIRE

The Wes Lunt Effect is already happening! Okay, so this probably isn't really related to Wes Lunt, but it's funny how a few hours after I post a story on how Wes Lunt could help with recruiting the Illini get another commit.

Matt Daniels was the first to report that linebacker Henry McGrew had committed to the Illini.

McGrew is rated as a 2-star linebacker by 247Sports, and the kid from Stilwell, Kansas had offers from Iowa State, Kansas and Idaho. He also had some interest from Kansas State, Missouri and Nebraska, but no offer. He's the second linebacker to commit to Illinois in the last week, following Austin Roberts. Which leads me to believe the 2014 class is done with linebackers, but I can't be sure.

As for McGrew, judging by what I see in video of him, I'm guessing the plan is to use him in the LEO position, as it's what he seems best suited for.
