Joseph Bertrand is going to play a much larger role for the Illini next season and what will be his senior season is already off to a rough start. You know that shoulder injury that was bothering Bertrand for the last month or so of the season?
Yeah, well, Joe had surgery on that shoulder.
Joe Bertrand had surgery to repair his shoulder today and the timetable for his return is uncertain. Heard he will miss most the offseason..

The good news is that he'll be more than healthy in time for next season. The bad news is that he's not going to be able to work on his game much this offseason. Still, while this is not good news, it's much better to have Bertrand missing time now than during the season.
