Is Cliff Alexander Now A Package Deal With Jahlil Okafor And Tyus Jones?

One basketball program could be getting incredibly lucky in the near future.

With the AAU season in full gear Illini target Cliff Alexander has spent a lot of time sharing the court with fellow top recruit Jahlil Okafor, and it turns out the two may be spending a lot of time sharing the court in the future as well.

Alexander told reporters that there's a "seven in ten" chance that he'll go to the same school as Okafor, point guard Tyus Jones and forward Justise Winslow. All four players are top ten players in the 2014 class according to Rivals.

"We've talked about going to the same school together," Alexander said.

Jones and Okafor - longtime friends from their time playing for USA Basketball - have expressed their intent to attend the same college for the past year. Now, Alexander said, they have recruited him to the flock.

Alexander said they told him, "Let's come to the same school and win a national championship."

Now, obviously, if all four of these guys committed to the same school that'd be one hell of a recruiting class. Also, obviously, the odds are not in Illinois' favor that all four would commit to the Illini. Still, I wouldn't get too worked up over this.

Plenty of "package deal" type situations have been speculated amongst recruits in recent years, but not all of them come true. Of course all four of these guys would love to play together in college, but it seldom works out that way.

Though John Groce did help bring Greg Oden, Mike Conley and Daequan Cook to Ohio State in a similar situation.

But don't go expecting it to happen at Illinois in the 2014 class, or anywhere for that matter.
