B1G Basketball Diaries: Michigan State Can't Stop Getting Hurt

The Spartans won another game and suffered another injury.

You know, Michigan State keeps winning, but at the rate it's going it could be out of players by the time the postseason comes around. The Spartans lost Travis Trice to another head injury against the Illini last week, and Gary Harris hurt his back. Well, Harris played on Wednesday night and scored 15 points while Trice sat out, but then Keith Appling had to leave had to leave with a shoulder injury of his own.

According to Appling his shoulder "popped out, then went right back in." Now, I've had that happen to me before, and believe me when I tell you it sucks a lot of ass.

If all that wasn't enough, Adreian Payne got a bloody nose from an elbow to the face and Branden Dawson still has a sprained ankle. But Michigan State did win. So it has that going for it.

Wisconsin 74 Iowa 70 2OT

Sometimes one overtime just isn't enough, and on Wednesday night the Badgers and Hawkeyes needed two of them to decide a winner. What's notable is that Wisconsin is the worst free throw shooting team in the Big Ten. However, that did not stop it from making 13 of 14 free throws in the two overtimes, including some big ones from Ben Brust to help ice it.

Jared Berggren also had 16 points and 14 rebounds as Wisconsin snapped a three-game losing streak against Iowa.
