B1G Basketball Diaries: Indiana Takes Over

You know, it's possible that Indiana and MIchigan could play four times this season. On Saturday Indiana took Round 1.

Indiana 81 Michigan 73

And we are going to have a new #1 on Monday.

That failed lob to Victor Oladipo was pretty much the only thing Indiana did wrong on Saturday night. Every single Hoosier starter finished in double digits, with Cody Zeller leading the way with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Christian Watford checked in with a double-double with 14 and 10. As a team Indiana not only shot 52% from the floor, but took 25 free throws compared to only 7 for Michigan.

Illini fans know the feeling.

As for the Wolverines, Trey Burke is still awesome, as he put up 25 points and 8 assists, but Michigan is going to have a hard time beating Indiana on the road when it only gets 2 points from Glenn Robinson III.

Ohio State 63 Nebraska 56

Nebraska went on a 15-5 in the second half to cut Ohio State's lead to five points, but the Buckeyes were able to hold the Huskers off and pick up the win. Lenzelle Smith finished with 21 points and could not miss. He made all six of his field goal attempts, and the only shots he didn't make on the night were a couple free throws.

Northwestern 75 Purdue 60

That kind of shit can only happen at Northwestern. But in defense of Northwestern students, finals are only a few months away!
