B1G Basketball Diaries: Indiana Losing Is The Best

So much for the Big Ten regular season race being over.

LOL the fuck are you doing, Yogi?

Minnesota 77 Indiana 73

Sometimes college basketball is outstanding, and last night was certainly one of those nights. And not just because Indiana lost, although that certainly added to the entertainment.

No matter the teams playing, though, last night's game was just fantastic from beginning to end. It was a game that was back-and-forth up and down the court just about the entire night. The difference in this contest was Minnesota absolutely dominating Indiana on the boards. The Gophers have been an outstanding offensive rebounding team all season long, and last night was no different. Minnesota finished with 17 offensive rebounds and had an offensive rebound rate of 50%. That kind of effort helps you overcome a 4-for-20 night from three to allow you to beat the #1 team in the nation.

Old man Trevor Mbakwe was a monster, finishing with 21 points and 12 boards while shooting 80% from the floor. Meanwhile Cody Zeller was missing in action, finishing with only 9 points, 4 turnovers and fouling out. Proving that, yes, Cody Zeller actually can be called for fouls and sometimes every single one of them.

Wisconsin 77 Nebraska 46

And then there was this game.

All that really needs to be said about this one is that Wisconsin actually scored 44 points in the first half. Bo Ryan didn't know whether to be happy or force his team to run laps at halftime.
