Illini Open As 7-Point Favorites Over Purdue

FAVORITES? MY STARS!

Bradley Leeb-USA TODAY Sports

Sure, we've lost 20 straight Big Ten games, but you know what? We're still better than Purdue.

In fact, we're so much better that Purdue that even though next week's game will be played in West Lafayette, Vegas has us as seven-point favorites over the Boilermakers this week. It's the first time the Illini have been favored in a Big Ten game since the Indiana game last season when they were favored by two points.

We know they lost that game 31-17.

The last time the Illini were favored in a Big Ten game on the road? Well that would have been the last time they traveled to West Lafayette back in 2011. They were three-point favorites that day.

They lost 21-14.
