So is Cliff Alexander making an unofficial visit to Michigan State this weekend? Yesterday Cliff said he hadn't decided yet. Today Cliff's mother says he has.
There will be no visit to Michigan State.
That's what Cliff's mom told Adam Zagoria, but what will be most interesting to Illinois fans from Zagoria's article will be this part.
She added that Memphis is due in today for a home visit, Illinois is coming tomorrow and Kansas may also come at some point.
I already know the conclusions Illinois fans will leap to upon reading that Kansas "may" also have an in-home visit. But, not to be a downer, Alexander's mom also told Zagoria that she isn't worried about how far away Cliff goes to school because "I just want him to be happy."
There had been a lot of speculation that she favored Illinois both because she likes John Groce and it'd keep her son much closer to home.
Either way, Groce is going to be in that living room on Thursday, and good things happen for Illinois when Groce gets on somebody's couch.
UPDATE
Okay, this is just getting weird. Here's the trend with Cliff's recruitment. Somebody reports something, and then he refutes it to Taylor Rooks.
About that in-home visit that his mother said was going to be happening on Thursday...
...so yeah. I don't know what to make of any of this any more. Only two more weeks of this to go!
