Sometimes the math is really easy to do. In the last few weeks defensive end commit Evan Panfil -- who committed to Illinois back in November -- was wavering a bit after getting an offer from Purdue. Then, when asked about it, Panfil said he was "still committed to Illinois."
But then defensive line coach Keith Gilmore left to take the same job with North Carolina.
Suddenly Panfil's status wasn't nearly as solid and on Monday he flipped his commitment from Illinois to Purdue.
Panfil is a 3-star recruit from Lincoln Way Central in New Lenox and is considered the 33rd best prospect in Illinois by Rivals. Panfil's defection leaves the Illini with three defensive linemen left in their 2013 class.
Hopefully he'll be the last defection and we add a few more commitments before signing day. Hopefully.
