Wisconsin 45 Minnesota 44
We know how it feels, Minnesota, we do. You started out the season with a 15-1 record and that lone loss coming against Duke. Still, after you started the Big Ten season with impressive wins over Michigan State and Illinois things were looking really good.
But that's no longer the case.
Minnesota dropped its fourth straight on Saturday thanks to a 15-foot jumper from Traevon Jackson with 4 seconds left. It was an ugly game, one that saw Minnesota's Andre Hollins score 20 points by himself. That's 22% of the points scored in the entire game, as no other Gopher scored more than 8 points and only two Badgers reached double-digits. Making matters worse for Minnesota, Trevor Mbakwe aggravated a wrist injury.
Nebraska 64 Northwestern 49
See, this is why Northwestern is always going to be Northwestern when it comes to basketball. The Wildcats win consecutive games against both Illinois and Minnesota and then hit the road and lose by 15 to a Nebraska team that the Illini had no trouble with. Dylan Talley finished with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Brandon Ubel finished with 14 and 12 for the Cornhuskers.
Ohio State 65 Penn State 51
"Why the fuck are we showing this game," asked an ESPN executive Saturday morning when trying to figure out why the fuck ESPN was broadcasting an Ohio State game against Penn State.
