So much for the Luke Butkus Era at Florida International.
We found out just over two weeks ago that Butkus was leaving Champaign to join Ron Turner's staff at FIU and now he's left Turner's staff to return to the NFL with the Jaguars. This will be Luke's fourth coaching job since 2010. Of course, I don't blame Luke for leaving FIU for an NFL job. That's like leaving Illinois for FIU! It's an obvious step up.
Or maybe Luke just can't say no to fellow Illinois alumni, and Jaguars owner Shad Khan personally asked him to join Gus Bradley's new staff.
Anyway, none of it matters to us anymore, as we've hired Jim Bridge to replace Butkus and he's ready to scream at some people.
