Fighting Illini basketball will once again be hosting a five-star point guard for a campus visit. According to Illini Inquirer’s Derek Piper, Chicago native Ayo Dosunmu will be in town, making this his second downstate venture of the offseason. Dosunmu is rated as the nation’s No. 20 prospect by Scout, and 247Sports has pegged him at No. 34 overall.

Dosunmu had an extremely impressive Summer with the Mac Irvin Fire (Nike EYBL). Whilst playing up a year at the 17U level, he averaged a team-high 18.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
The Fighting Illini are already pursuing several top point guards in this particular cycle. In addition to Dosunmu, five-star guards Darius Garland (TN) and Courtney Ramey (MO) are also on the board.
