Illinois football looks to be on the verge of a quarterback competition between Chayce Crouch and newly committed JUCO transfer Dwayne Lawson, however the shift towards a more versatile offense isn’t stopping there. The new coaching staff have clearly made dual-threat prospects a priority since taking over, and they’ve just added another name to the growing list of targets.
Peoria star Coran Taylor recently received his first scholarship offer from Lovie Smith and the Fighting Illini. The 6-foot-3 standout is coming off a monstrous IHSA 5A State Championship victory in which he threw for 215 YDS and 2 TD while rushing for another 134 YDS and 3 TD.

247Sports and Scout have not yet designated star rankings for Taylor, however each site denotes that he’s also been in early contact with Iowa and Northwestern.
