Leron Black to Illinois

It's hard to not get a little excited about possibly getting Leron Black to come to Illinois, and this morning... we may have done just that. Of course, all of these are only rumors and the opinions of one individual, but still... let's all freak out anyways.

First came a post on IllinoisLoyalty this morning:

Our staff currently thinks (the Leron Black recruitment) is near a done deal. The worry is, he is still listening to everyone and is close to a few others (Crean). I just went to school with someone very close to coach groce on staff. Just know, I did call the Ekey transfer and Paul transfer before they happened.

So that's encouraging. A potential "insider" is telling us all that the Black recruitment to Illinois is all but a done deal.

Then came this from 24/7 Sports' website:

Note that while only four of the fifteen recruit "experts" predict Black will go to Illinois, they are also the most recent four to do so. All of the others predict either Florida or Memphis (only one thinks he will go to the Tigers), and they're all at least a week or two out of date. Meaning, the most recent and therefore accurate predictions all point to Black attending school in Champaign. In fact, as I write this, more experts are changing their predictions to say Illinois. It's up to six who have switched from Florida to Illinois now. It's getting hard to contain my excitement.

And finally, this:

So let's review. This past week, an insider and three experts have all changed their tune and are saying that Leron Black will commit to Illinois, and that it is all but a done deal. Just for reference, he is supposedly the 35th best player in the country for the 2014 class, and is the 6th best PF in the class.

All we need now is for him to add a "B" to his first name. Then we can definitely say we've got a sure-fire super-star.

Here's his highlight video:
