Terry Hawthorne Drafted By The Pittsburgh Steelers

USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Terry Hawthorne with their fifth round pick.

A few years ago it was the Steelers taking an offensive player from Illinois in Rashard Mendenhall, but today they took a look at the other side of the ball. With their fifth round pick -- 150th overall -- the Pittsburgh Steelers took Illinois cornerback Terry Hawthorne.

Terry joins Hugh Thornton (Colts) and Akeem Spence (Buccaneers) as the third Illini to be drafted this week, and if you're a defensive player and you are going to go to any team in the NFL, you can do a lot worse than the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If you're a Steelers fan coming across this post, here's our breakdown of Terry's strengths and weaknesses, but just know that you're getting a solid football player.
