Meet the only running back in Illinois' 2013 class, Peoria's Kendrick Foster.
Name: Kendrick Foster
Position: Running back
Hometown: Peoria, IL
Stars: Rivals 3, 247Sports 2, ESPN 3
With four young running backs already on the roster the position wasn't a need this year, but the coaching staff was impressed enough with Kendrick Foster to bring him to Champaign. Looking at Foster's tape, I can see why the interest existed. Foster is small, yes, and that's probably what led to services like 247Sports only giving him two stars.
However, what he lacks in size he makes up for in not giving a shit, and I mean that in the best possible way. Foster is the kind of back that gets the ball and finds a hole without fooling around. He's also not afraid of contact which is pivotal for any running back that wants to be successful in the Big Ten. I'm not sure how much, if any, playing time Foster will see in 2013, but I would not be surprised to see him contributing a lot to this offense in the coming seasons.
He was certainly productive in high school, finishing with 6,401 total yards and 78 touchdowns while finishing as the fifth-most prolific rusher in Illinois high school history.
